About Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, musician, dancer, and music video director. He is best known for his style and on-stage performance as well as his incredibly broad range of musical styles and influences that includes pop, R&B, funk, soul, reggae, disco, and rock. Mars is often accompanied by his band, the Hooligans, who play a variety of instruments and provide backup singers and dancers for many of his shows and videos.

Early Life

Bruno Mars, born Peter Gene Hernandez in Honolulu, Hawaii, began his musical career after moving to Los Angeles in 2003. In 2009 he co-founded the production team, “The Smeezingtons, which was responsible for various successful singles from Bruno Mars and several other artists. But what helped him rise to fame was in 2010 with the success of “Nothin’ on You” by B.o.B and “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy, both of which featured his vocals.

Later that year, Mars released his debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligan, which featured a then unique blend of pop, reggae pop, and R&B. The album also featured several international smash-hit singles, “Just the Way You Are”, “Grenade”, and “The Lazy Song”. 

Bruno Mars Today

Today, Mars has managed to sell over 130 million records world-wide which ranks him as one of the best selling music artists of all time.Eight of his songs have reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and his concert tours are some of the best grossing concert tours in history. He’s also a frequent mention on several top artists and personalities lists including Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists in 2019. He’s also become the first artist to receive five Diamond-certified songs in the United States and is undeniably an influential pop icon.
