And, as of 2021, he was the first artist to receive five diamond certified songs in the United States.

Doo-Wops & Hooligans

Bruno Mars’ debut studio album came after he gained fame for his vocal work on debut singles by B.o.B and Travie McCoy. This work, entitled Doo-Wops & Hooligans, was released in 2010. The album famously featured the singles “Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade”  that both topped the charts in the US, Australia, Canada, new Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The singles went on to be certified 13 times platinum and diamond respectively by the RIAA. 

Both were certified seven and six times platinum, respectively, by the Australian Recording Industry Association. This album may have then led to Bruno Mars being chosen to record “It Will Rain” for the soundtrack of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 as well as appearing on a number of collaborative singles.

In 2016, Bruno Mars released an album called 24K Magic. This album continued Bruno Mars’ star studded performance on the charts by peaking in the top 3 in the United States, Australia, and Canada as well as in the top 10 in many other countries.
